Subtasks and Permissions - February 2025

February 27, 2025

Here's what's new and what we're working on to make ZenHammer even better for your team.

New Features This Week

Subtasks

Big tasks can now be broken into subtasks. Assign each piece to a different person, track them independently, and watch the parent task move as the pieces complete. Rough work that used to live in someone's notebook now lives in the app.

Sharper Permissions

We've gone back through what each role can see and do, and fixed a number of places where the dashboard showed more — or less — than it should have. Superintendents in particular now get a view that matches their job.

Scheduling Time Constraints

Tasks can now carry time constraints, so the schedule reflects the windows work actually has to happen in rather than treating every day as equal.

Automatic Updates

The mobile app now checks its own version on launch and prompts you when there's a newer one. It means everyone on your team is looking at the same app — which makes reporting a problem far easier for both of us.

Coming Soon

All Your Documents in One Place

Files are scattered across tasks today, which is fine until you need to find one. We're building a single Documents tab where everything lives together, filterable by project or task.
